Nakenstorf, Kunstscheune

Musicians perform at the front, under timber framework and beams while, behind the left-side window, free-range geese waddle around a huge chestnut tree, and sheep graze in the meadow. Behind them, your gaze drifts over the lake Neuklostersee – welcome to Nakenstorf!
The Kunstscheune Nakenstorf (Nakenstorf Barn of the Arts) is part of the Seehotel am Neuklostersee, a privately operated country hotel in the middle of the nature reserve “Sternberger Seenlandschaft”, about 15 km (9 miles) from Wismar and the Baltic seacoast. The little hotel was opened in 1993 after the old brick farmhouse and thatched-roof, half-timbered barn from the 19th century had been reconstructed and restored with great care and commitment. In 2004, the building complex was expanded by the construction of a “Badescheune” (“Bath Barn”) to a classic three-sided farmhouse. Since then, the hotel has been able to offer guests a wide range fitness and wellness amenities. Over the past several years, the “Kunstscheune” has become a well-established cultural institution, even outside of the region. It is used as a venue for many different events of the regional, national, and international arts and culture scene and has also hosted Festspiele concerts for many years. The musical evenings on the lake Neuklostersee are as integral to the Festspiele summer as the sheep and geese are to Nakenstorf.

Nakenstorf erreichen Sie über die A20, Abfahrt Zurow (10). Fahren Sie auf der B192 bis nach Reinstorf und biegen Sie dort links in Richtung Neukloster ein.
