Unexpected musical experiences and personal encounters are trademarks of the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The festival programme includes a broad range of series and »festivals within the festival«, where visitors can discover and focus on particular elements through a wide range of supplementary activities such as guided tours, listening experiments, artist talks and discussions over several days.
Promising young artists from all over the world present themselves in the series »Junge Elite« and »Bothmer-Musik«. The »Landpartie« invites you to a musical excursion to the countryside. And the »Grenzgänge« format takes you into the young jazz scene. Discover more about our various Festspiel elements here.
Of course, classical music lovers get their money's worth here — from intimate solo recitals to large orchestral concerts. But what could be more beautiful than looking beyond the musical horizon?!
On the spacious grounds of Schloss Bröllin, the Detect Classic Festival offers the ideal genre symbiosis for festival-goers who love to explore. In the picturesque Schlosspark Fleesensee, star singer Max Mutzke will do the honours together with the SWR Big Band, while exceptional musician Max Herre will break new ground in Schwerin and Torgelow together with MIKI’s Takeover! Ensemble will be breaking new ground. Pianist Hauschka presents a synthesis of light and sound together with lighting designer Jörg Bittner. The trio around jazz pianist Michael Wollny celebrates a special anniversary in Wismar when the 100th anniversary of Murnau’s film classic »Nosferatu« is celebrated on its set and with live film music. And the new format »Grenzgänge« takes you into the young jazz scene.
