Festspiel Favourites
Unexpected musical experiences and personal encounters are trademarks of the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The festival programme includes a broad range of series and »festivals within the festival«, where visitors can discover and focus on particular elements through a wide range of supplementary activities such as guided tours, listening experiments, artist talks and discussions over several days.
Promising young artists from all over the world present themselves in the series »Junge Elite« and »Bothmer-Musik«. The »Landpartie« invites you to a musical excursion to the countryside. And the »Grenzgänge« format takes you into the young jazz scene. Discover more about our various Festspiel elements here.
Open-Airs
Music under the open sky
Bright sunshine, magnificent nature — and classical music: for many years now, the festival summer has been bringing the castle gardens and parks in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to life. In Fleesensee Castle Park, Esther Schweins elegantly leads through an evening of classic film music. Pianist Fazil Say and the prize-winner in residence, the SIGNUM saxophone quartet, give a concert with the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra in the park of Bothmer Castle. The Frank Dupree Trio with trumpeter Simon Höfele will perform in Schwiessel Castle Park, while Daniel Hope and the SIGNUM saxophone quartet will meet in Dargun in June and the Landesjugendjazzorchester MV with saxophonist Gabriel Coburger in August. But the small festival in the large park is also a must in a festival summer. A trip to the neighbouring state of Bleckede is also part of the programme. And the whole family is in the right place at the »Kinder- und Familienfest« in Hasenwinkel!
