Festspiel Favourites

Unexpected musical experiences and personal encounters are trademarks of the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The festival programme includes a broad range of series and »festivals within the festival«, where visitors can discover and focus on particular elements through a wide range of supplementary activities such as guided tours, listening experiments, artist talks and discussions over several days.
Promising young artists from all over the world present themselves in the series »Junge Elite« and »Bothmer-Musik«. The »Landpartie« invites you to a musical excursion to the countryside. And the »Grenzgänge« format takes you into the young jazz scene. Discover more about our various Festspiel elements here.

Ulrichshusen — 30 years of beeing venue

A festival in the festival barn, castle and coach house

It all began in 1994 with a legendary performance by Lord Yehudi Menuhin in the barn, which had just been cleared of straw — the Ulrichshusen festival venue was born. Today, 30 years later, the idyllic castle with its coach house and festival barn has become an integral part of the festival programme. Reason enough to celebrate this special anniversary with many musical reunions and great concert experiences. We look forward to seeing prize-winners such as Noa Wildschut, Marie-Elisabeth Hecker, Martynas Levickis, Timothy Ridout and this year's prize-winners in residence, the SIGNUM saxophone quartet. And Daniel Hope and Sebastian Knauer will not miss the opportunity to offer their musical congratulations on a special day of celebration.
