Festspielfrühling Rügen

The Festspielfrühling Rügen is the spring festival of the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and invites you to musical discoveries and personal concerts with selected artists over ten days in March. Prizewinners of the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern take over the artistic direction of the Festspielfrühling Rügen and create made-to-order programmes for the island together with musician friends and companions.

From 21 to 30 March 2025, the festival will bring 22 concerts to the island and offer a program in which rhythm sets the tone. This is because percussionist and audience favorite Alexei Gerassimez has taken over the artistic direction. He and his brother won the MV Festival ensemble prize in 2006 and shaped an entire season as prizewinner in residence in 2017. Gerassimez has created an unusual program for the upcoming Festspielfrühling Rügen - with surprising instruments and great percussionists. Pianists Danae and Kiveli Dörken, the CelloFellos, the string quartet Quatuor Hermès, jazz pianist Omer Klein and many others will also be making their way to Rügen to welcome the first days of spring with music in the idyllic landscape of this unique island. The highlight will be the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra's orchestral gala »Musikalisch um die Welt« in the Nordperdhalle Göhren, which will of course also feature Alexei Gerassimez and many other spring festival soloists.
